Our house was build in 1869. Our street was constructed that same year, after the middle-age walls, at the location of the actual Italiëlei, were taken down. Before that time the place of our house was part of the monastery of the Trappisten that had a refuge within the city-walls. The house is a typical 'herenhuis' of that time. Big rooms with high ceilings and high windows. Over time the house always seems to be well maintained, so all typical elements as ceilings, floors, stairs and doors are well kept.
The construction and the age of the house needs us to make it a no smoking zone.
Because the building block makes a triangle, and our house is in the middle of it, we have a nice city-garden with fish-pont behind the house. Sounds of the street are damped by the high climbing plant that grows from the garden up to the roof-side.
We dispose of single and double rooms. All rooms are equiped with TV, radio, telephone with outside line and lavabo.
If wanted network access is possible on your room.
There is a shared bathroom, and 3 shared toilets. A public pc with internet access is also available.
If you are familiar with the layout of our house and the different rooms you can tell us your room preference upon booking.
We will keep this in mind as much as possible, but this depends on other bookings too.
