Scotty's Boutique Hotel just opened in February 2005 and is the first gay hotel in Sofia, located in the heart of the city in a recently renovated and completely reconstructed building which is part of the city's historical heritage. Within walking distance to the major business, government and shopping district. Many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Opposite the Sofia's Synagogue and the Old Market Hall called Halite. One minute walk to the major Catholic Cathedral and the most famous Mosque of Sofia and the Old Mineral Bath House (currently under reconstruction). Near to the biggest Orthodox Cathedral on the Balkans St. Alexander Nevski, National Museum of History, the former King's Palace and present National Art Gallery and many other historical landmarks.
All staff at Scotty's is gay. At the reception you can get info and assistance whenever you need it. Scotty's is straight friendly, but most guests are gay and lesbian. You can have your own guests at day and night without extra charges; your guests needs to get registred at the reception. He can have a breakfast too. You can walk to several gay bars and clubs: 3 minutes to Exit, 5 minutes to Vital and to Why Not, 10 minutes to Joy and to Twelve Chairs restaurant, 20 minutes to Sax and Kayo, 30 minutes to Flamingo.
All rooms are individually decorated and named after world famous cities (Please choose from the menu on the left to find detailed info about each room). Every room has air condition, mini bar, free cable TV with 70 channels and one free movie channel (HBO); private phone with own local number; a safety box (you make your own number code); complimentary in-room coffee, tea and mineral water; private bath and toilet. Most rooms have double beds, but can be replaced with two single beds on request. Rooms are cleaned daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., but only if you are not in the room at the cleaning time. Normally towels are changed daily and bed sheets will be changed after the second night (but if needed can be changed daily free of charge). There are 2 single rooms with balcony, 7 double rooms, 1 double room with balcony and 6 deluxe double rooms with balcony and Synagogue view. For the deluxe double rooms a third bed is availble for 10 EUR. Check-in is possible from 2 pm; latest check out time is 12 noon. You may store your luggage free of charge. Credit cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners, JCB and debit cards like Maestro, Cirrus), but no traveller checks. Cash payent can be made in EUR, BGN and USD (see changerates on the left menu). There is a ATM just 1 minute walk away from the hotel where you can get Bulgarian Leva.
Breakfast is available on request from 8 am until noon and served in your room ( you will have bacon, sausages and eggs, croissants, yoghurt, toasted bread, coffee, milk, juice etc). It costs 5 Euro per person. Bring your notebook with wifi adapter and you can have free wireless internet access throughout the hotel. In every floor you will find one internet terminal that you may use free of charge. Two gay friendly fitness facilities and saunas are nearby. Laundry and dry cleaning services are provided and on request in-room massage is available. Tickets for theatre, musical etc. can be ordered trough the reception. Tickets for public traffic, stamps and phonecards available at a shop across the street from the reception (open daily 9 am until 7 pm). Free parking on the street. Guarded parking is available in 3 minutes walk distance for appr 20 BGN (10 Euros) for 24 hours. Reservations for the parking area are not reqiuired. Transfer from train stations can be arranged for 12 EUR one way or 20 EUR return (see the left menu) and from the airport for 20 EUR one way or 35 EUR return (see the left menu). Scotty's is 12 kilometer from the airport and 2 kilometer from the central railway station and only 15 kilometer from Vitosha Mountain, a great place for skiing during the winter.
